Ingredients: 3 eggs, well beaten; 1 1/4 c. raisins; 1 tsp. vanilla; 1 c. shortening; 1 c. brown sugar; 1 c. granulated sugar; 2 Tbsp. wheat germ (optional); 2 1/2 c. flour; 1 tsp. salt (optional); 2 tsp. soda; 1 tsp. cinnamon; 2 c. oatmeal; 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

3 eggs, well beaten
1 1/4 c. raisins
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 Tbsp. wheat germ (optional)
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt (optional)
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Combine eggs, raisins and vanilla.

Let stand for 1 hour. Thoroughly cream together shortening and brown and white sugars. Sift flour, soda and cinnamon into sugar mixture.

Mix well. Blend in eggs and raisins, oatmeal and nuts.

(Dough will be stiff.)

May need to blend with hands.

Push dough from heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Flatten between hands and place on cookie sheet.

Bake at 350u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly brown.
