2 2/3 c. sugar
2 c. applesauce
2/3 c. water
4 eggs
3 1/3 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. raisins

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Spray 8 wide mouth pint jars with non stick cooking spray.

Cream shortening and sugar in mixing bowl until light and fluffy.

Stir in applesauce, water and eggs.

Add mixture of flour, soda, baking powder, salt and spices. Fill prepared jars 2/3 full.

Place on middle oven rack leaving as much space as possible between jars.

Bake for exactly 45 minutes. Remove jars from oven one at a time.

Seal quickly with 2 piece lids pressing bread down if necessary.
