In the large bowl of an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar; add in egg and molasses; beat till blended; mix will look curdly.

Add in half the flour mix and half the water; beat gently till smooth; repeat with remaining flour mix and water.

Drop by level tablespoonfuls, several inches apart, on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven till lightly browned, 8 to 10 min.

With a wide metal spatula, remove to wire racks to cold completely.
