In a small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, cornstarch, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour the mixture into the slow cooker and stir until the apples are well coated.

In a medium bowl, combine flour, oats, cinnamon, brown sugar and butter. Using your fingers, work the butter into the flour mixture until moist clumps form. Sprinkle the mixture on top of the apples, then cover and set the slow cooker to HIGH for 4 hours.

If not serving immediately, set the slow cooker to KEEP WARM mode. When ready to serve, scoop out the crisp into serving bowls and top it with whipped cream or ice cream.
