Over high heat, add oil to cast iron skillet and heat until smoking. Quickly pour batter into the hot skillet.

In a small bowl, whisk together room temperature butter and honey until well combined and smooth.

When cornbread is done baking, let chill for a couple minutes and then cut into wedges.
