Shoney'S Strawberry Pie

   Combine sugar, water, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan and heat on medium-high until clear.

   Reduce heat to low; add Jell-O and cook until dissolved.

   Remove from heat and cool slightly. Place berries in pie shell and slowly pour Jell-O mixture over berries.

   Refrigerate and add whipped topping before serving.

   (May use blueberries and/or peaches with appropriate Jell-O.)
