Scotch Short Cake

   Cream the butter and sugar together and add about 2 cups of the flour with the baking powder and nutmeg.

   Then gradually add at least 2 more cups of flour kneading until it cracks and breaks

   Sometimes I can get a little more than 4 cups of flour

   Pat and roll otu to nearly 1/2 inch thickness

   Cut and bake on wax paper and cookie sheet 325 - 350 about 15 minutes until light brown

   test a piece to see if it is done

   Cut while hot.
