1
First, brown the pound of sausage in a skillet.
-
2
Drain off excess grease, and put on a plate with paper towels to help get even more grease out.
-
3
Mix this browned sausage with the grated cheese, pimientos, and olives.
-
4
(Please include the olives, even if you dont think you like them!
-
5
Trust me.)
-
6
Pour in the ranch dressing and mix together.
-
7
This is your filling.
-
8
It can sit in the refrigerator for a while if you need time to get other food ready.
-
9
Next, make your wonton shells.
-
10
You need to form the wonton wrappers down into a mini muffin pan.
-
11
I use the pestle from my mortar and pestle to press the wrappers into the muffin cups.
-
12
They will sort of fold in on themselves.
-
13
Just try to be sure that theres a good opening at the top to fill it.
-
14
Now put the muffin pans with EMPTY wonton wrappers in a 350-degree oven.
-
15
Bake for about 5-10 minutes, till shells are a light tan and crispy.
-
16
The shells can also be set aside for several hours before filling.
-
17
But once the shells are filled, its best to heat and serve fairly soon, to keep them from becoming soggy.
-
18
Finally, fill the shells with the sausage mixture.
-
19
Place the filled shells on a large sheet pan.
-
20
Put them back in the 350-degree oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly.
-
21
Enjoy!
