Sausage And Brown Rice Casserole

   Brown sausage in skillet. Remove and drain.

   Pour off drippings, reserving 1/4 cup.

   Add mushroom pieces and onion to drippings.

   Saute until lightly browned. Remove and drain.

   In a large bowl, blend cream or evaporated milk into flour to form a paste.

   Stir in broth, pepper and thyme. Add sausage and onion mixture and rice.

   Mix lightly.

   Put into 2-quart casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 350u00b0 for 40 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
