   Cream shortening and sugar.

   Add egg and molasses.

   Blend well.

   Add sifted dry ingredients.

   Mix well and chill.

   Roll small amount at a time to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface and cut into circles or roll into small balls and flatten to 1/4-inch with the bottom of a glass.

   Bake at 360u00b0 for 10 minutes. Dough can be frozen and baked later.
