1 1/2 cups water
1 vanilla bean split
1/4 cup dark rum
1 tablespoon minced ginger

1 banana, chopped
1 tablespoon passion fruit syrup (or 2 tablespoons puree)
1 tablespoon pink peppercorns, for garnish
1 ripe pineapple, peeled (Costa Rican)

In a small saucepan, mix together the sugar, water and vanilla bean and cook until golden brown.
