Preheat the oven to 180C.

Bring the butter to room temperature and beat in a bowl until creamy.

Add sugar in three batches and beat until almost white in color.

Add the beaten eggs in three batches, mixing well each time.

To prevent separation, do not add the eggs at once!

Sift together the marked ingredients and fold into the bowl.

Add the milk and combine.

Add vanilla extract and fold in the chocolate chips, nuts, etc.

Fill the muffin cups about 70% full.

The muffin rises when baking so if you put too much batter into the cups, it will overflow (I have experienced this).

Bake in the oven for 25 minutes and it's done.
