   Butter sides of 2-quart saucepan and place first 4 ingredients in.

   Cook; stir constantly until sugar dissolves and mix comes to a boil.

   Cook to hard ball stage (250u00b0) without stirring.

   Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.

   Gradually beat in gelatin until stiff peaks form.

   Pour hot syrup slowly over egg white mixture. Beat constantly at high speed until soft peaks form and mixture starts to lose its gloss.

   Stir in nuts and coconut.

   Drop by teaspoon on waxed paper.
