Place the onion and margarine into a skillet. Cook until onion is

the heat.

Add the milk and cheddar cheese. Place back on burner and heat until

boiling, constantly stirring the mixture. Continue boiling and stirring

for one minute.

Put the potatoes in a one and one half quart casserole dish. Pour the

cheese sauce over the potatoes and place in oven uncovered. Bake for one

and one fourth to one and one half hours until top is brown and bubbly.
