Ingredients: 1 1/2 pounds new potatoes; 7 ounces creme fraiche; 1 lemon grated peel only; 1 pinch sugar; 3 tablespoons honey; 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes; 1 red apple cored and cut into wedges; 8 slices bacon each cut into 3 pieces; 24 sage leaves; 2 red onions cut into wedges

7 ounces creme fraiche
1 lemon grated peel only
1 pinch sugar
3 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 red apple cored and cut into wedges
8 slices bacon each cut into 3 pieces
24 sage leaves
2 red onions cut into wedges

Cook the potatoes in salted boiling water for 15-20 mins until just tender. Drain. Set aside to cool.

For the lemon dip, mix the creme fraiche, lemon peel and sugar. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

For the marinade, mix the honey with 1 tbsp water and the red pepper flakes. Set aside.

Thread the potatoes onto 8 metal (or pre-soaked wooden) skewers with the apple, bacon, sage and onion. Brush with some of the marinade.

Heat a greased nonstick grill pan. Grill the skewers for 8-10 mins, turning occasionally and brushing several times with the marinade. Serve with the lemon dip.
