Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

In a mixing bowl, blend 1 tablespoon of the powdered sugar, the egg yolk, the lemon juice and the brandy until smooth. Add the ground anise seeds and the lemon zest.

In a separate bowl, mix the cinnamon, the salt, and the flour, mix well.

In another bowl, cream the butter until smooth, and add the egg yolk mixture. Add half the flour mix, and blend until very smooth. Then mix in the rest of the flour with a wooden spoon, making it as smooth as possible.

Roll the dough out to bout 1/4 inch thick. using a round cookie cutter, cut out the cookies. Bake them on an ungreased cookie sheet for about 30 minutes, until they are lightly toasted but firm to the touch. Allow them to cool to where they are easy to handle. Take the remaining powdered sugar and give the cookies a thorough dusting all over. Enjoy!
