   In a large mixing bowl, cream margarine and sugar together. Add vanilla and flour, mixing well.

   Add soda and salt; mix well. Add nutmeg and eggs.

   Mix on medium speed until blended.

   Pour out on well floured table or board.

   Divide in half.

   Roll out 2 strips about 2 inches thick.

   Chill for about 2 hours.

   Cut into 1/4-inch thick slices and place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 375u00b0 oven until light brown.

   Let cool before removing from cookie sheet.
