   Mix the dry ingredients as for pie crust, then cut in shortening, adding the well beaten eggs.

   Knead dough and roll 1/2 of dough 1/4-inch thick.

   Line cake pan with dough.

   Spread apples over dough; sprinkle apples with sugar and cinnamon.

   Roll out the rest of dough and place on top of apples.

   Slit top dough. Bake about 1 hour in a 375u00b0 oven.

   Sprinkle with powdered sugar; cut in squares.
