Combine powdered sugar and peanut butter in a medium bowl; mix until mixture is mealy. Combine sugar, flour and salt in a saucepan. Gradually stir in milk. Cook flour mixture over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Pour 1/2 cup of hot mixture into the beaten egg yolks, stirring constantly. Add egg mixture to hot mixture, stirring constantly, until well combined. Cook over low heat 2 to 3 minutes longer, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; cool. Add butter and vanilla to cooled mixture; set aside. Sprinkle half of peanut butter mixture on the bottom of a baked 9-inch pie shell. Top with custard. Sprinkle remaining peanut butter mixture over filling. Top with your favorite meringue. Bake at 200u00b0 until meringue is browned. Cool. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
