1/2 cup shortening

1/3 cup sugar

1 egg
2 Tbl milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar for decorating

Beat shortening and peanut butter until smooth. Add sugars and beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Beat well. Combine four, soda, and salt. Gradually beat into peanut butter mixture. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately press kisses in. Cool on wire rack.
