1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. smooth peanut butter
1 egg
1/2 c. sugar
48 Hershey's chocolate Kisses
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. milk
1/2 c. brown sugar

Combine all ingredients except chocolate Kisses and last 1/2 cup sugar.

Mix on low speed until dough forms.

Shape dough into balls using a rounded teaspoonful for each. Roll balls in last 1/2 cup sugar.

Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8 minutes. Take out and put candy Kiss on each. Press down firmly so cookie cracks around edge. Bake another 3 to 5 minutes in preheated moderate oven at 350u00b0.
