   Cream the shortening and sugar together with a spoon.

   Beat well.

   Add milk, egg and vanilla to this.

   Add flour.

   In a piece of wax paper, roll this dough up and let chill in refrigerator for a few hours.

   Place on a greased cookie sheet (cut in slices) and cook in oven at 350u00b0 until cookies are browned.

   Before baking you can sprinkle candies on top for decoration (red and green sprinkles especially for Christmastime).
