Party Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnut Appetizer

   In a saucepan over medium heat melt butter; add brown sugar and stir until dissolved and mixture is smooth.

   Add more brown sugar if needed to make a thick sauce with no butter floating on top.

   Keep warm while preparing water chestnuts.

   Heat oven to 375.

   Cut bacon strips in half.

   Wrap each half around one whole water chestnut and secure with toothpick.

   Place in a foil-lined 9x13 baking pan and spoon sauce over each.

   Bake for 20 minutes or until bacon is crisp and cooked thoroughly.

   Tip: This recipe is very forgiving.

    Wrap the water chestnuts ahead of time, cover and refrigerate until ready to cook, then prepare brown sugar mixture and continue as directed.

    If bacon is browning too quickly you can turn down the heat Crank it up if guests arrive early, or if you just cant wait any longer.
