Combine yeast, 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 cup of warm water. Combine 1 cup sugar, eggs, shortening, 4 cups warm water and salt. Add yeast mixture and flour, alternating.

Mix and add enough flour to make dough easy to handle.

Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead in enough flour until smooth and elastic (takes a lot of flour).

Put dough in greased bowl.

Cover and allow to raise until double. Punch down and allow to raise again. Do this every hour for about three times.

Shape into loaves or rolls; place in greased pans.

Refrigerate overnight.

Bake in the morning at 350u00b0 for about 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
