1
Sift 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt together into a mixing bowl.
-
2
Then, in a separate bowl, whisk together 2 eggs, 1/2 cup melted butter (you can also use oil), 1/2 cup milk, and 1 tablespoon dried orange peel. You should preheat your oven to 400 degrees F as well.
-
3
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and the add the liquid mixture. Gently stir the muffin batter with a fork. You don't want to stir the heck out of it. That would make the muffins a bit tough. Just mix them until combined.

4
Grease a muffin tin and fill 9 to 10 cups 3/4 full.

Now, this is the part that makes these muffins so over-the-top delicious. Get it? Over the top? All right, in a small bowl, toss the 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon dried orange peel, and 1 teaspoon orange juice.
-
6
Dab the melted butter on top of the batter and then sprinkle with the sugar mixture.
-
7
Then put them into your 400 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Mine took 18 minutes.

Oh, and you might want to put a cookie sheet under the muffins as they bake. Sometimes a little of the sugar falls off, and it's better to have it on the sheet than smoldering and scorching down there in the bottom of the oven.
