   Mix butter, sugar and flour thoroughly with a pastry blender. Pat lightly into a greased 7 x 11-inch oblong pan.

   Bake 15 minutes at 350u00b0.

   Cover with the balance of the ingredients mixed as follows:

   Beat eggs until light; add brown sugar and flour and mix until smooth.

   Add walnuts, coconut and vanilla and bake 30 minutes at 300u00b0.

   Let cool a little and cut into squares.
