Oatmeal Cake

   Mix oats, boiling water and soda; let stand for 20 minutes. Cream together shortening and sugars.

   Add eggs and beat well. Add oats mixture.

   Add dry ingredients and mix well.

   Bake in greased 13 x 9-inch pans.

   Bake at 300u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool and frost with following frosting.
