In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, butter and milk. Bring to a rapid boil, one that can't be stirred down, begin timing, boil for one full minute.

Remove from heat, add vanilla, stir. Pour over contents in bowl, stir until the peanut butter and oatmeal is well blended. Mixture will look a little 'wet'.

Drop batter by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Mixture begins to cool so quickly that by the time you have a few on the paper, it will get thicker and begin to set up. Let cool until set.
