Mommy'S Famous Cornbread

   Preheat oven 375 degrees

   Grease an 8x8 pan.

   Heat stick of butter in a small pan until melted. Do not let it brown.

   Take pan off the heat. Let it cool slightly. Stir in sugar until it dissolves. Beat in the eggs. Add the milk.

   In a large bowl, mix together the flour, corn meal, salt and baking soda. Add the butter mixture. Stir together well.

   Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30-40 minutes.
