Name: Molasses Sugar Cookies

Ingredients: 3/4 C shortening; 1 C sugar; 1/4 C Brer Rabbit Molasses; 1 egg; 2 t baking soda; 2 C flour; 1/2 t ground cloves; 1/2 t ginger; 1 t cinnamon; 1/2 t salt

1. Melt shortening in 3 qt pan over low heat. Remove from heat and let cool.

2. Add sugar, molasses, and egg; beat well.

3. Sift together flour, soda, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, and salt. Add to first mixture.

4. Mix well; chill.

5. Form in 1 in. balls, roll in granulated sugar and place on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.

6. Bake at 375 for 8-10 min.
