In a large mixing bowl, whisk dry ingredients: flour, sugar, matcha green tea powder, baking powder and baking soda. In a separate medium bowl, whisk wet ingredients: egg, butter, half-and-half, and vanilla extract until smooth. Mix wet and dry ingredients together until a batter forms.

Fill a donut pan with the batter, only filling halfway since it will rise when baking in the oven. Bake for 5 minutes if making mini doughnuts or 8-10 minutes if making regular-sized doughnuts. They're ready if you stick a knife through one and the batter does not stick to the knife when you pull it back out (it is dry). Remove from oven and cool on a rack before adding frosting or glaze.

Make the glaze by whisking sugar, green tea powder and boiling water in a medium bowl until smooth. Dip the top of the doughnuts one by one into the glaze and set on a serving plate. Enjoy!
