2 tbsp. butter
5 egg yolks, beaten
5 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Bring to a boil.

Pour over beaten egg yolks, beating while pouring.

Then stir this mix into the flour, sugar and salt.

Return to stove and cook till thick, stirring constantly.

Top with meringue mix; beat whites till soft peaks form, then gradually add in the sugar and cream of tartar.
