Maple Old Fashioned

   Add the maple syrup and water to a saucepan and turn the heat to medium.

   Whisk the ingredients together until the maple syrup has dissolved into the water and then remove from the heat. Allow to cool.

   Add the maple simple syrup to a rocks glass.

   Add the bourbon to the glass and stir.

   Drop in a few ice cubes, give another stir.

6. 6

   Squeeze the lemon peel over top of the glass to release its juices and then drop into the drink.

   Take a nice deep whiff of the cocktail as you sip and revel in its heavenly character.
