Preheat oven to 400u00b0F. Prepare a baking tray by lining it with parchment paper.

Whisk both flours, oats, baking powder, sugar and salt together in a bowl. Cut the butter into pieces and add it to the bowl. Work it in with your fingers, pastry blender, or with a fork.

In a separate bowl, combine the milk and the syrup. Add these to the butter and flour mixture and bring everything together to form a soft dough.

Using 2 tablespoons (the dough will be sticky so you can do what I did and just use your hands), drop the dough onto your prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until they begin to brown on the edges. Serve warm with butter and jam, obviously.
