Mamaw'S Sugar Cookies

   Mix sugar, shortening and egg together.

   Scald soda in 2 or 3 tablespoons boiling water before putting in milk.

   Add to sugar, shortening and egg.

   Mix with enough flour to make a stiff dough so you can roll easily to desired thickness.

   Put in any flavor desired.

   Use 1/2 teaspoon salt if using plain flour.

   Bake in 400u00b0 oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
