Name: Mama'S Old-Fashioned Tea Cakes

Ingredients: 3 eggs; 2 c. sugar; 4 Tbsp. buttermilk; 1 tsp. vanilla; 1 c. shortening; 4 c. all-purpose flour; 1 tsp. baking powder; 1 tsp. soda; 1/2 tsp. salt; sugar for sprinkling

Mix together first 5 ingredients.

Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together and add to liquid mixture.

(Add more flour, if needed.)

Refrigerate 30 minutes for easier handling.

Roll out on a lightly floured surface.

Cut out and space 2-inch apart on greased cookie sheet.

Sprinkle with sugar.

Bake 400u00b0 until lightly colored for soft, chewy tea cake.
