Maids Of Honour

   Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add flour, salt, and vanilla, mixing well.

   Shape dough into 1-inch balls; press dough into greased 1 3/4-inch muffin pans to form shells. Spoon 1/2 teaspoon jam into each shell. Spoon filling over jam to fill pastry shells.

   Bake at 350u00b0 for 20 minutes or until set. Remove from pans while warm. Cool. Top each with a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
