You will also need a 5-gallon bucket with a lid, and enough water to finish filling the bucket.

Pour the 2 quarts of water into a saucepan.

Put the heat on low.

Add the grated Fels Naptha soap and let simmer till the soap is melted.

While the soap is melting, fill the bucket half full with warm water.

Add the borax and washing soda.

Stir well.

When soap is melted, add to the mixture in the bucket and stir.

Finish filling the bucket full with warm water.

Let the mixture set overnight and it will thicken.

In the morning, stir the mixture till well blended.

Use 1/3 to 1/2 cup of the concentrate straight out of the bucket for regular size loads.
