In a smal mixer bowl beat butter or margarine until softened. Add 1/4 cup sugar and beat until fluffy.

Meanwhile, in the mixer bowl beat eggs.

Add 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, lemon peel, lemon juice and baking powder.

Beat about 3 minutes or until slightly thickened.

Pour the lemon mixture over the baked layer. Return to the 350u00b0 oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until edges are light golden brown and center is set.
