Lemon Bread (A Tea Bread)

   Cream together the shortening and sugar; mix the eggs in the mixture. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside on wax paper. Add the sifted dry ingredients alternately with the milk and mix completely; mix in the nuts and lemon peel. Blend well. Place the mixture in a buttered bread pan and bake at 350u00b0 for about 1 hour. After baking, mix juice of 1 lemon mixture over the top.

   Let stand a few minutes, remove from pan and cool. Slice when cool and serve.
