   Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy.

   Add flour and nuts and blend until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

   Reserve 1/2 cup mixture for topping.

   Firmly press remainder into a greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

   Bake in a preheated 350u00b0 oven about 12 minutes. Immediately spread cheese filling over base.

   Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.

   Bake 30 minutes longer.
