Kolaches – a delicious recipe with yeast, water, flour, sugar, salt, lemon rind. Easy to follow and perfect for any occasion.

Soften yeast in warm water.

In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt and lemon rind.

Add margarine and mix with hand until well blended.

In small bowl, beat the egg yolks with a fork; add cream or milk and yeast and stir well.

Add to flour mixture and stir until well blended with fork or spoon. Cover well and store in refrigerator overnight.

When ready to shape rolls, pat the dough out on a floured surface and roll out to 1/4 inch thickness.

Cut with a 2 inch cutter and place on ungreased baking sheet.

Cover with a light cloth and let rise for 1 hour.

Make a depression in the center of each roll and place a bit of filling on each one.

Bake in 375u00b0 oven for 10 minutes or until light brown.

Frost while still warm.
