1 lb. pinto beans, washed and drained
8 c. water
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. cooking oil
2 c. chopped onions
2 lb. ground beef
2 (28 oz.) cans tomatoes (undrained)

Simmer until beans are almost tender (about 2 hours).
