Preheat oven to 350u00b0. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.

Cream butter with shortening.

Gradually add sugar, creaming well, at least 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine milk and vanilla.

Add alternately with the dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Blend well after each addition. Melt German's sweet chocolate with water over hot water. Remove from heat. Blend in 2 Tbsp. cream. (This is the Chocolate Sauce.) Set aside. Pour 1/4 of batter into 10 inch tube pan, well greased on the bottom. Drizzle with Chocolate Sauce, alternating layers of batter and sauce to make three layers of sauce with batter on top. Bake at 350u00b0 for 70 to 80 minutes. Cool and frost with a chocolate glaze.
