On a floured surface, roll out the pie crust into a rectangle (that way there's less waste). Cut it into 6 smaller rectangles (or 4 larger ones).

Spread a teaspoonful of jam over one half of each rectangle, avoiding the edges. Fold the other half over and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Seal all edges with a fork. Bush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle each with a little sugar. Bake them at 350 degrees for approximately 12 minutes, or until they turn golden brown. Let them cool.

They are even better with a powdered sugar icing drizzled over the tops. Mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar with just enough milk (start with 2 tsp.) to drizzle.
