1/3 c. butter, softened
1 clove garlic, crushed
12 slices white bread, crusts removed
2 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 1/2 c. diced ham, cooked
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tsp. salt
dash of red pepper
6 eggs
2 c. milk
1 c. chopped mushroom (optional)
1 box chopped frozen broccoli (optional)

Bake, uncovered, in 325u00b0 oven until knife inserted in center comes out clean, about 1 1/4 hours. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
