1/2 c. boiling water
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 c. molasses
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 1/2 c. flour, sifted, all purpose
2 teaspoon baking pwdr
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Place shortening in bowl.

Pour in boiling water and add in salt.

Add in unbeaten egg and beat well.
