1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 Large eggs
1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 teaspoon baking pwdr
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon grnd nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 c. buttermilk

Beat together sugars, butter and shortening till fluffy.

Beat in Large eggs, vanilla and lemon extract.

Sift together flour, baking pwdr, cream of tartar, nutmeg, salt, and baking soda.

Add in alternately with buttermilk to creamed mix.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
