1
Preparation: Bring the egg and milk to room temperature.
-
2
Melt the butter in a microwave or in a double boiler.
-
3
Preheat the waffle maker.
-
4
In a bowl, lightly beat the egg.
-
5
Add the sugar and beat until thickened with a whisk.
-
6
Add the milk and vanilla extract and mix well.
-
7
Mix together the flour and baking powder, and sift into the wet mixture.
-
8
Mix until smooth.
-
9
Add the melted butter and quickly mix everything together.
-
10
Lightly grease the hot waffle maker with vegetable oil or unsalted butter.
-
11
Pour in the batter from step 3 and completely fill the mold up to the edges.
-
12
Then close the lid.
-
13
This process needs to happen quickly.
-
14
Caution: Two waffles must be connected, so the dough must be poured in the compartment between them.
-
15
If you pour in too much, it'll overflow, so be careful.
-
16
Cook for about 5 minutes until lightly browned.
-
17
Carefully take it out of the mold without ripping and wrap it in plastic wrap right away.
-
18
Let it cool.
-
19
If you are in a hurry, you can put it in the refrigerator.
-
20
Note: To keep the dough moist, you must wrap it securely with plastic wrap as soon as it is finished cooking.
-
21
Finely chop the strawberries into 5 mm cubes.
-
22
Add the heavy cream to the sugar and whip.
-
23
Stop whisking just before stiff peaks form.
-
24
Lay out the plastic wrap that you used to wrap the waffle.
-
25
Place the waffle on top and layer with heavy cream.
-
26
Top with the strawberries.
-
27
Use less topping towards the end of the roll.
-
28
Roll the waffle away from you with quite a bit of pressure.
-
29
Face the end of the roll downwards, wrap it again with plastic wrap, and put it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to set.
-
30
Remove the plastic wrap.
-
31
Trim off both ends and it is done!
-
32
It is perfect if cut into 4 pieces.
-
33
This is the side view.
-
34
The extra dough that was connecting the two waffles is at the top.
-
35
This is easy to eat by hand or with a fork.
-
36
Note: I used a waffle maker from Vitantonio.

This recipe can be used as a base, and the dough and cream can be adjusted to your liking.
