Put the taters in a large pot, add the diced onion and butter.

Season to your tastes with salt and pepper.

Add just enough water to the pot to just cover the taters.

You want to softly boil until your taters are tender.This keeps as much liquid in your pot as possible and helps to keep your taters from turning to mush.

DO NOT DRAIN YOUR WATER!

Add the cream cheese * if you cut into pieces it will melt faster* and add the cream of broccoli soup.

Mix this until all the cream cheese is melted and your texture is creamy.

Add shredded chedder cheese and stir until melted.
